Onward and Upward!

As of Thursday 12/19/2024, I'm no longer a student of Mott Community College!

It feels so strange to say that. I've been coming here since Michigan Reconnect became available... since the Pandemic started. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to come back to school. Getting a college education is not something that I ever expected nor anticipated, and it couldn't have come at a more opportune time. I'm not sure my mental health could have taken being cooped up without something major to focus on!

I started knocking out the requisite classes at first: Math, English Comp, Sociology, etc. I finished those just in time for the lockdown to be recinded, so that I could start taking in-person classes. I thought at first that I would be a graphic designer, in part because I have physical disabilities that I thought would hinder my taking studio classes. Once I found out that wasn't the case, I switched my major and it was the best decision that could have made for myself. The rest is history!

On 12/3/2024, The AFA Degree Candidates show opened up at Mott's Visual Arts & Design Center (VADC) and will be running until 1/31/2025. If you're local to the Flint, MI area, feel free to stop by and check out the work. All the students involved are flippin' amazing!

There's no time to rest for me! I start at University of Michigan - Flint right after Winter Break ends and I'm hitting the ground running. Wish me luck!
